Where It All Began

Both Alan and John would like to invite you to come and visit a pub steeped in local history. Renamed the Waterside Bar in 2005, it now sits on the site of the old Lough & Quay pub. This landmark pub is renowned for it’s food and drink and can trace its heritage back through 250 years when the Grand Canal was used by merchants to transport cargo between the Shannon and Dublin. Traditionally it was seen as out-of-town lodgings, historically fringing main roadways leading in and out of the city.

Following a full refurbishment you now have on one side,  a traditional bar catering for all sport’s events during the day and with live music every Saturday night. On the other side is a fabulous 1930’s retro style lounge serving delicious breakfast, lunches and an evening food menu. It also boasts a fantastic soup & sandwich bar for local businesses and passers by every Monday to Friday 11am-3pm.
